Sewing Quick Tip:

A basic pattern tip:

Always press your pattern pieces before laying them onto your fabric. Using wrinkled pattern pieces – no
matter how much you try to smooth them out by hand – can lead to inaccurate fabric pieces that don’t
match up quite right and a poor fitting garment.

To press your pattern pieces, use a dry iron at a very low setting – just warm enough to press the
wrinkles out. You don’t want to risk scorching the tissue paper.

Sewing Quick Tip:

Pattern Tip:

Lay all of your
pattern pieces onto
your fabric first,
before pinning
them down. Some
of your pieces may
need to be shifted
or adjusted, and
this will be easier
to do if the pattern
pieces are still
loose.
Sewing Quick Tip:

When cutting a
curved or intricate
pattern piece,
rough cut around
the piece first to
free it from the
rest of the fabric.
This way, you'll be
able you to turn
the piece to a
position that feels
comfortable to you
for cutting the
intricate area.
