Help Stitching Knit Fabric
If your sewing machine needle keeps pushing your knit fabric down into your needle plate
hole as you sew, try placing paper underneath your fabric. Stitch through both the fabric
and the paper, then tear the paper away from the stitching when finished.
Test this method on a scrap of your fabric first to make sure the paper tears away
completely. And depending on the thickness of the paper, you may want to switch to a
larger needle.
You might also try changing to a needle plate with a smaller hole - a straight stitch
needle plate. Just remember to switch back to the needle plate with the wider hole for
zigzag stitching.
