How Much Fabric for a Ruffle?

As a general rule, to get a good amount of fullness in your ruffle, cut a length of fabric
that's at least one and a half times the desired length of your finished ruffle.

For instance, if you want a finished ruffle that’s 20” long, cut a length of fabric at least
30” long, plus a bit extra for seam allowances.
