How to Tell Thread Quality
In another tip, I recommended staying away from “cheap thread” because of the
problems it can cause. So now you may be wondering, “Well, just exactly how do I
identify a good quality thread?”
Here are a couple of ways:
Unwind a strand and hold it up to the light. A good quality thread will show very little
fuzz. Next, run the strand of thread through your fingers. It should feel smooth without
any nubs.
You may even want to buy one of those cheap spools of thread for comparison, just so
you can see the difference.
