Match Your Needle Size to Your Thread

It’s important to use a sewing machine needle that’s appropriate for your thread. Using a
needle that’s too small can cause your thread to shred or break. And using a needle
that’s too large can result in uneven stitches.

When your needle and thread are well matched, your thread should pass smoothly
through the eye of your needle and fit snuggly into the needle’s groove (the indentation
in the front of the needle that helps guide the thread).

So if you experience stitch problems or broken thread, try a different size needle.
