Here you'll find a variety of pig plush designs, each one cuter than the next, most of which are meant to be sewn from felt, but could easily be sewn from woven fabric or even fur.

And if you're a new sewer and would like to sew one of these designs, you may be better off hand-sewing your plush rather then trying to machine sew it. Hand sewing will give you better control with small fabric pieces that need to be sewn precisely, than machine sewing would.

And of course, sewing any small stuffed animal can be a great way to use any larger fabric scraps you may have leftover from other sewing projects. And there's nothing that says you have to stick with traditional pink for your stuffed pig. Any color fabric or felt, solid or print would be a fun choice for your stuffed animal.

If you plan to sew your pig plush from felt, consider using a high quality wool or wool blend felt instead of the acrylic felt you'll find in most craft stores. Your finished softie will likely look nicer, be more durable, and won't pill the way acrylic felt can. The only drawback to using wool felt is that you may not want to machine wash it.

And if your pig plush will be for a baby or small child, just remember not to embellish it with anything that could come off and become a choking hazard like buttons. Consider embroidering the facial features of your pig softie instead (eyes, nose, etc.). And you may also want to reinforce your seams by stitching them twice.
