Sewing Quick Tips:
Tip #1: When sewing knit fabrics, use 100% polyester thread, cotton-wrapped polyester thread, or silk
thread. These threads have a degree of stretch to them and will therefore stretch some with your knit
fabrics. Avoid using 100% cotton thread which has very little stretch to it.
Tip #2: Because dust is bad for sewing machines, always keep your sewing machine covered when it’s
not being used. You can purchase an inexpensive cover or make your own. This is a such simple thing
you can do that could save you potential problems in the long run.
Tip #3: Tip #1: When choosing a lining fabric, don't choose it based solely on its looks. Actually drape
it together with your fashion fabric to make sure you like the look and feel of the two layers together.
Also, be sure to choose a lining fabric that has the same care requirements as your fashion fabric. In
other words, don't choose a washable fabric and a lining fabric that must be dry-cleaned.
