Here you'll find a collection of shark softies from cute toys to more realistic designs. To be sewn from either fabric, fur, or felt.

And don't feel you have to stick with traditional gray for your shark plush. Feel free to have fun with bold fabrics or mixing and match coordinating or contrasting prints.

And if you plan to sew your shark from felt, you may want to use wool felt, instead of the acrylic felt found in most craft stores. Wool felt tends to be thicker and more durable, plus it won't pill the way acrylic felt can. Which means your finished stuffed animal will likely look nicer and last longer.

If you choose to sew your shark plushie from fur, you may find it easier to cut your fur in a single layer, instead of doubling your fabric as you normally would. Just remember to cut opposites of any fabric pieces that need it. Also, when cutting your fur, cut into the fabric backing only, not into the fur itself. And consider cutting your pattern templates from cardboard instead of paper. Then trace around these cardboard templates to mark the cutting lines onto your fabric.

And if your shark plushie happens to be a gift for a toddler or small child, just remember not to embellish it with anything that could some off and become a choking hazard, like buttons. Better to embroider the facial features of your shark plush instead. You may also want to double stitch the seams of your stuffed animal for added durability.

And if you want your finished shark stuffie to be washable, you may want to prehrink your fabrics first to prevent shrinkage of your finished softie, especially if your fabric is 100% cotton. Prewashing your fabric can also wash any excess dye from your fabric.
